Barry, I now own a autographed copy of your book and am plugging away.  I have a 2 rail around the basement double main layout in the planning stage.  For now, I am setting up temp test tracks to fully understand what I’m doing.   Just waiting on a MTH TIU to become available, for now it’s just me and my trusty z1000.  On page 59 under Homerun wiring, your speaking to a 3 rail setup.  Please confirm that for 2rail layouts,  the sequence originates at my 120v/18v stepdown brick, then z1000 controller, then fixed volts in/out, then into a multi port power strip, where it then splits to send the ac power to individual blocks via a “homerun 16 gauge wire, into a connection to transition from 16 stranded to 22 solid wire, where the black wire is soldered to the “outside rail” rail and “red to “inside rail”. That was a mouthful!

Regards,

Jim

I'm sure Barry would chime in here and I hope he does. I'm three rail but most folks on here would probably say use 14 stranded to the power distribution block then 16 stranded to the track. Also with DCS you can eliminate the controller as the remote/or WIU becomes the controller. Again, I'm not a two railer, but I'm not sure where the red goes on two rail set ups, or if it matters.
