Just bought a Pennsylvania set from MTH, and it comes with a DCS Explorer. Unfortunately there was no information in the box about connecting to the explorer, and all videos say it should show as a wifi "hot spot" of some type. Nothing comes up when searching for wifi (actualy dozens come up, nothing with MTH DCS in it), I've tried Iphone, Ipad, laptop, desktop, nothing see it, and I can't manually put it in to find it, it says it doesn't exist. I found the direction on the MTH website, but weather it is on "home" or "MTH" no wifi hot spot is created. I'm at my wit's end here. Paid a fortune for this and I can't even get it started without getting the DCS going. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just to try to clarify a little more:
When I boot up the DCS Explorer with the "home" selected, the power light comes on the WPS light blinks and after about 30 seconds the Wifi light comes on for about 5 seconds then both the WPS and WIFI light go off. leaving only the power light on. at no point does it show up on any devices as an available wifi.
maybe this could help you?
is your app set for the explorer??
Yes it is, thank you, just got off the phone with MTH service, and they said it is most likely a bad unit.
Store i bought from replaced my DCS Explorer. and I'm connected, but engine was active, but would not move, bell and whistle worked. Now the train is in the inactive list, but the lights are on. Can't seem to get it into the active list.
Should I start a new post since new problem?
You are probably better off starting a new post. When you do please include as much info as possible, including the model number of the engine. Also has the engine run on a full dcs system or just the explorer? Have you gone through the factory reset before adding it to the explorer? I am not an expert on the explorer, just started playing with one myself.
