I have been an owner of the DCS system for just over one year.  I have really tried to learn the ins and outs of the system so I could "flex" my investment not only in the control system, but my MTH locomotives as well.  I have read, but never experimented with the record/playback feature...and today finally got around to using this feature.  One word...cool!  I just recorded a 10 minute session that included bells, whistle blows, and PFA sounds.  Another forumite and myself are thinking of putting together a train garden for our community this upcoming holiday season.  I can really see where this feature will truly pay off big time in such a setting and will be a blast for the kids....and adults.

ChessieMD,

You bet the DCS is great stuff, I am in the process of adding TMCC to my DCS for the specific reason of adding low voltage Command Control FasTrack switches to my DCS layout.  Although the AIU controlled my old 711 Lionel switches from the DCS hand held, I had way to much wiring thru out my layout, I want to fully eliminate all switch wiring if I can.  I agree the PFA is a way cool sound option!  I am with ya, drive on into the future!
