Presently using MTH DCS system with my MTH trains on two separate tracks (Atlas). On one track all engines work perfectly and turn on when I use the remote control. However, on the other track no matter what engine I use the engines start up and stay in neutral when I give power to the transformer (Lionel ZW). They will not run. Previously, all was working well. Any idea what could be wrong. Thanks. Daviddp

The signal generator on that channel may be turned off. Try MENU/SYSTEM/DCS SET UP/AON. If that doesn't work try using a different TIU channel.
Make sure that the red terminal on the TIU channel is connected to the loop's center rail and the black terminal is connected to an outside rail.
Daviddp,
Both these men are very knowledgable people and have given you good advise,
let me go a little further with this because the way you described your start up did not make sense to me. You say your one track is working fine with your DCS, if so 1st try testing your engine, from your problem track on the working track to make sure you do not have an engine peoblem. If you find out you do have a track problem do as Barry indicated 1st, if the engine operates correctly on your good track, do as Gary advised. Now if you have a problem after that, and the engine is on your good track and operating and still does not operate on your other track, you may have another problem, your ZW may have blown a fuse in your TIU, so your other track is not in operation. This could happen if you do not have either 10 Amp breakers or fast blowing fuses, between the ZW and the TIU. Old ZW's have slow blowing internal breakers, which do not blow before a TIU fuse. You must install the 10 Amp breakers or fast blowing fuses so you do not blow the TIU fuse or damage the TIU. The old ZW's are great for running DCS, but must be set up properly to safe guard the DCS TIU. I use the 10 Amp quick blowing breakers.
Now if your TIU fuse is blown you must repalce it.
At this point I suggest you invest in both Barry's DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd addition and the OGR DCS Video guide, they both have great DCS education in them
needed for building & running a DCS layout.
Hope this helped

Dave/PCRR, Based on the information the original poster gave, this set up used to work fine, all the engines run fine in DCS on the one track, and all the engines startup right away on the other. So this isn't an engine problem or lack of track power issues.
Gary or Barry point out ways the offending track maynot have a DCS signal. After that we are into technical troubleshooting of the TIU. G

Yep, unless the tiu is in the "off" state. No power to fixed 1 or the aux port. Don't think so if everything was working before.

Gentlemen,
If everything was working before, he might have blown one of the fuses in the
TIU, especially if the engine works on the other track. Don't know how he is set up to run however. Without actually seeing his layout it's hard to tell exactly what the problem really is. He has not indicated whether the engine works on the other track.

You do turn on the power first, don't you?
