CJ,

if i plug in the jumper before powering up the engine plays crew chatter and sounds. If i plug in after giving power the engine is quiet

You never said exactly what it is that you're attempting to do. I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that you're attempting a TIU software upgrade, however, now I'm not sure.

What is it that you're attempting to do, and what is the purpose of the engine on the tracks?

I would like to change the sound set on the steam engine. I have since given up on that until i can get the tiu recognized. If it cant find the tiu i cant do any upgrades. So my curent goal is to get the program to find the tiu. Currently the tiu has a usb connection, the sterio jumper, and a transformer fixed to input 1. I follow the ditections provided for finding the tiu and all it does is give me the warning about not being able to find a tiu connected and varry the voltage to the tiu to help find it. Thanks for taking the time to help.

Try using the aux power port to power only the TIU rather than the Input port This is what I had to do for the TIU to be found by the DCS Remote any other way and I had no variable ports.
