DCS Loader Question for Barry

Bob, that function got "disappeared" for some reason.  This was a question for the last York DCS get together.  Supposedly nobody know why the function vanished.  Maybe Barry has more info on this by now.

MTH removed the download to sound file to engine function in both the Consumer and Sertice versions of Loader Program 2.3. Suffice it to say, enough of use made a ruckus and MTH has since promised to bring it back in the next release of the Loader Program.

In a great many cases, you can download the engine's sound file from its MTH web page, or by searching for it on MTH's Protosound2.com web site.

I have several of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Trains.  I just got tired of hearing the referee’s whistle and “charge” music instead of a nice roar of a steam whistle or diesel horn and the clear chime of a bell.  I wanted to replace those PS2 files with some “real” train sounds.  But, at the same time, I do not want to permanently replace them, I want keep the old files available.  However not all the Steelers’ Train sound files are on the web site.   So my plan was to upload them and save them for future use. 

I did change the RS3 file – I really like that diesel horn.  I will change the Dash 8 file this weekend.

Barry, have you figured out anyway of have two different loader versions on one computer?

Yes, actually I have, however, not everyone can do it. I have Service Loader program 2.3 installed along with Consumer Loader 2.2. Since they're different programs, there's no conflict.
