Bob,

I sent you the following E-mail at 3:32 pm this afternoon.

To purchase a softcover copy of the book, do either of the following:

Either one will take you right to the site to order the book.

Gents,

Before the 2nd edition the book was only available as an eBook. However, I had OfficeMax print about 6 double-soided, B&W copies and had them spiral bound. I included a clear vinyl cover and a solid door rear cover, a card stock color title page and a CD holder, as well.

At a volume of 6 copies, it cost approx. $18 a B&W copy for the 168-page 1st edition. A color copy would have been approx. $50-60 each.

The 2nd edition is about 25% longer (215 pages) and would cost 20% more.

If you want a hard, color copy it's more economical to simply purchase the soft cover version of the book. You could print a color copy yourself, however, it would still cost quite a bit in paper and ink.

When I printed my e-book at Staples in black and white cheap and before they bound it I took it home and printed off the few pages on my regular color printer  that I thought would be useful that had the color images on them did not take to long.

Then I replaced the B&W pages with color then took it back to Staples to ring bind it works great as mentioned being able to lay it out flat when working in the train room and needing a reference great book Barry! Been very useful.

For me, I downloaded the e-book on my iPad which makes it so convenient to carry over

to the "Studio" where my layout resides.

I do like the option of "bookmarking" parts of your book for quick reference.

The other thing is...I lent out my hard copy of 2nd edition and have yet to get it returned. If it's on e-book, it's easier to deny requests to lend !!

Rufus,

I like the hard copy in the staples set up, I had notes and everything in it, the darn thing seems to have walked off however.  If you have a wife like mine who keeps moving things, cleaning up she calls it, you do not have to worry about lending stuff out, things she is not interested in seem to disappear into the great abyss.  I have a really nice Tin Plate Light House lost in the abyss also. You have a better chance of getting your loaned hard copy back than I have of finding mine in my own home.

Good luck to ya buddy.  Now if Barry would sell his Book in this format I would purchase another one, in the new format, no matter the cost, it would still be worth it to me even at double what I payed for the original, course I would probably have to hide the darn thing every night, so it would not disappear into the abyss, for a 2nd time.

PCRR/Dave
