On my modular layout, I run DCS with a TIU.

If I attached a DCS Remote Commander in passive mode, could a loco be factory reset via DCS, be controlled by the TIU, and at the same time trigger the horn from the Remote Commander remote?

I would like to hand a remote commander remote to someone who could blow the whistle while I am controlling everything from a regular TIU/DCS remote.

If possible, I would disable other buttons on the remote commander so only the horn/bell buttons would work.

Thanks,

Ed

John,

I kinda figured that, but I thought there might be a work-around to get the loco to stay at the factory address.

I'm also guessing that if a conventional horn/whistle button is wired between the TIU and the track, that once under DCS, a DC offset won't trigger the horn.   Never tried it, but I have a feeling it won't work.
