CLEAN the contacts. Baking soda mush is optimal but just a toothbrush and water will often do the job.

Batteries often leak a tiny amount when getting low.

You put in new batteries and all is good, for a few days, then you get drop outs.

Cleaning the contacts has almost always fixed this for my, not just DCS but any battery powered items.

If that does not do it, Stretch the spring (-) side out to make better contact / more pressure, this also helps in most battery powered items.

Not all batteries are exactly the same length, a long set can compress the springs over time then they are loose on a shorter one.
