guys, I am having volume issues when two or more deseil ps3 engines or a mix of ps2 and ps3 are in a lash up together using my dcs remotes.

when initially the lash up is made in the remote. the lead engine has all volumes at 100%. the trailing engines have only the engine volume at 100%. all other volumes bell, whistle, accent sounds ect. are at 0%.

this is normal for every lashup I have ever made. so I assume this is how dcs software handles this.

my problem is when the volume is turned down on the consist using the volume + and - buttons. one of the engines overall volume does not match the other engine or engines. it is almost silent or off.

example: two dcs ps3 engines consisted and with over all volume being loward, lets say 3 -button presses. the lead engines volume is loward as it should, but the trailing or rear engines volume is almost off or near silent.

to fix this I have to recall each engine to the active list and then select the appropriate engine and adjust its overall volume to match the other engine. this happens every time I adjust the volume in the lash up.

this problem is happening in all my lashups and it is acting randomly. one lashup the lead unit is louder then the rear. other lashup the rear engine is louder then the front engine. in a 3 engine consist the middle or rear engine is lower than the lead engine.

this is happening with all my lashups. it does not matter how many engines I consist together. two, three, four. all ps3 or a mix of ps3 and ps2. to be clear all my ps2 engines or 3volt with bcr's installed. having to keep the individual engines in the consist in the active roster list is very annoying. this makes my active list very big and not as user friendly when selecting consist. I feel like my screen is two cluttered on my remote.

is this normal for dcs or is this a software bug or issue? anyone else experiencing this same issue?

This is how a real train does it. Only the lead engine has the horn and bell. With the trailing engines, you just hear the engines (motors). You can go into each engine in the consist, and change the settings like turning up each horn. Then press the LSV button to save the settings.

Not all DCS engines have the same volumes from the factory. For example, some AC6000 sound sets were much louder than other diesels. So again, you go into each engine in the consists and change the volumes to match. You can't expect to get perfect matches when these sound sets were so different.

Now once you adjust and save the changes to any engine, you should put that engine back in the inactive list so that it's not clogging up your screen or you don't select it by accident.

joe, you are 100% correct. although I think you miss understand my problem. when the consist is first made up in the remote. step one,I start up the consist buy pressing start up. the overall volume of each engine is 100%. that is normal for dcs.

they are both very loud too loud frankly. I live in an apartment and do not want to **** off my neighbors below me. so when I use the volume-/down key to lower the overall volume it sometimes only turns down the lead engine. other times it turns both engines down fine. other times it turns both engines down, but it turns the rear engines prime mover or engines sounds off or almost to off.

yes you can go into each engine and ajust each sounds volume. I like to have a little horn from the rear engine sometimes so I always go into the rear loco and ajust the horn setting. I then press the save lashup state button to save the settings.

the problem I am seeing at least for me is when if I go back and ajust the consist's overall volume at some point. the sound volume reverts back to how it was when I set it up and first loward it.

the LSV does not seem to work some what in this case. it remembers the individual volume setting I give each engine. even the rear engines horn volume setting, but one engine is back to almost no overall volume vrs the other engine with a higher overall volume.

to correct this I have to address the engine with the lower overall volume and get it back in the active list. then I ajust its overall volume by hitting volume+ to match the other engine. then I go back to the consist and just to be safe I always hit the LVS button Then I can run the consist.

So once I set my consist's they way I want them as far as volumes are concerned they stay that way most all the time. its only when I try to use the volume +/-  up and down keys in the consist to ajust the overall volume is when things go south.

why is this? do I have a bug in my tiu 6.1software or is this just normal for DCS in lashup's ? Is my description of my problem understandable to all who read this?
