I have found on my O gauge 2 rail layout, that Susan's filters worked nearly as well as the bulbs and have extra benefits. For some reason, they don't work on my basement G scale nearly as well as the bulbs do. I have so much available power on that layout, that a few well deployed bulbs are not any concern.

I have since switched the O gauge to using the L version TIU. I removed all the filters and bulbs with good results.

Missabe,

Congrats on reworking your layout, as I indicated in a prior post if your DCS layout is running with 10 every where except the switches, you are in great shape, and your engines are going to run perfectly.  As you have learned Barry's book needs to be read and absorbed, I further recommend you make a work copy in a ringed booklet to keep track side, as you build, to make notes for your individual layout needs. Barry has been exceedingly nice in allowing this to happen, once you purchase his book.  Remember also it is a lot easier to add Legacy/TMCC to a DCS layout than the other way around.

Congrats again on resolving your problems.

Well I guess I'm just very lucky.  I have this 4 X 8 and 2 x 7 layout. Figure 8 and three sidings and a bypass track.  1 power and ground connection (Lionel Fastrack Terminal Track) , and track just sitting on the carpeted table. Nothing screwed down.

I am not using ant of my 0-31 Fastrack as It did not hook togrther like it was supposed to. Just tested with my 2 engines again a minute ago and ALL 10's even through fastrack switches.
