A while back I inquired on the Form about controlling my strait DC loco's in conjunction with  my DCS loco's I also wished remote control.I received two , one from Dave Hikel and one from Stan2004, Dave suggested a method useing an AIU, I didn't have an AIU so I couldn't try Dave' s suggestion, but I did have an E unit that had two relays a bridge and four large diodes on the board. So I connected this to the output of my TIU's variable channel and track. The AC power supply I used was one I cobbled together and puts out 17 volts AC.

I must say that I was surprised at the result, I tested it with an old Atlas F unit, I expected it to take off at a brisk pace but it didn't it crawled down the track, the control from the remote was as good as my present DC controller, the procedure for reversing the loco takes a little getting use to but works fine once you get use to it, I also tried it on an All Nation NW, SW switcher and again it worked just fine, it was great to walk up and down and follow the loco and not be confined to the controller, all in all a pleasing result. This makes for me the TIU by MTH good value for money, and thanks to Stan for his suggestion.
