Hi all been working on wiring my switches for the layout. My question is about the Tui to Aui distance to each other. I want to move my Aui near most of my switches for less run wiring. The cable that comes with the unit seems to look like a phone wire/cable that connects the two. Could I just run a longer phone wire/cable to do this or is this cable something special for the units and not just an ordinary phone wire ? Can't find the answer in the book. Thanks

Yes you can move it but the cable is NOT a normal phone or Cat cable. I moved mine about 30 feet and made the cable. Works great!

Checked and my cable length is 41 feet.
Thanks Curtish So what did you make the cable out of ? How did you do ? Thanks
Used Cat 5 cable with Rj11 6 pin phone connectors. Take one of the existing cables from the TIU and just make sure when you put the ends on the new cable, the colors are the same position as on the ends of the existing cable. It is not wired as a cat cable!!!!

Not you will have extra wires just clip them off!
The maximum you should make this cable is 50 feet. The cable is reverse pinout or flipped RJ12. You can find them here https://www.showmecables.com/r...-6-conductor-reverse
This might help to explain what that means
Great Thank You ! So I can order the length I need at the site that bluelinec4 shared with no splicing or I need to splice the ends of the Aiu cord to the new cord Thanks
No need to splice. Just buy the length you need
Great ! Thank you !
You can also buy that flat six conductor cable in bulk. I forget the designation for it but someone will chime in I expect.
