I'am having to do a refresh every time to start a engine?

Monk,

It's not at all unusual to have to do an app refresh when the app is run the first time after the layout has been shut down and then powered back up.

Monk, the "trick" is to have all engines on powered tracks when you do the initial read upon starting the app. They don't have to be started; just on powered tracks. I do this, and they all get read and loaded as active, available to start up with the app when wanted.
