I have a DCS WiFi Interface Unit that has failed... I think the WiFi board has failed... It does not complete the boot up process during power up and does not generate the MTH network signal... Any info will be helpful...
Thanks

Possible known failure modes of the WIU:
#1 Failed power input jack. The mini-USB jack can be ripped off the board cracking traces. It's possible and I have seen first hand where some power traces were cracked and ripped open while another remained allowing only the power light to appear as if the device had power. https://ogrforum.com/...t-wiu-power-jack-fix
#2 The module has become corrupted- often from power loss causing it to fail to boot. I've seen where even the reset that is supposed to revert to factory defaults does not work. At best, if you can reach the LUCI interface, then you can attempt to reflash the firmware. If you cannot get a network or get to LUCI, it may be bricked. One test option is try the wired ethernet jack if WIFI is not working.
Vernon, thanks for reply... I'll look into your suggestions... I did buy a replacement and am going to install it this afternoon... I'll hook up the "failed" one and see if I can get to LUCI... I have got to do that for the replacement because the label on the unit reads v1.0... I would have thought that MTH would be producing them now with v1.1... But maybe they are not in production and this is from the original run... we shall see...

The new ones have the 1.0 sticker on the bottom even though they do have version 1.1 firmware installed. I think the sticker on the bottom indicates the Hardware revision, not which firmware version is installed on the device.
If you can get to the Luci login page you can easily see from right there what revision of the software is installed.
Vernon, The new one has v1.10 according to LUCI!! OK there...
Alan, thanks for the firmware file...

Jim if you can get into the Luci Interface, I'd reset the unit back to factory defaults to see if that will fix your issue. It just be that the Wifi radio was turned off in the software.
