A long ago previous owner of a postwar Lionel Rock Island Alco applied some small water decals to the plastic body, is there a safe way to remove these decals?
John's suggestion is good. I've also used Solvaset solution to reverse the setting process instead of water. Paint it on, let it set a little bit, brush with toothbrush, wipe clean with a cloth.
One decal lifted right off with warm water and a toothbrush but the two remaining decals look like they need a Solvaset treatment. Another bonus is the D cell battery was left in the body, I had to drill out enough battery innards to get it to move to remove it. I will be trying baking soda and water for this advenure.
