Settled on using this plan from another magazine. "An O Gauge Layout That Grows".  I have redrawn it using RR-Track version 4.  MTH Realtrax 042 outer loop and 031 inner loop.  My layout room is a spare 11' x 13' bedroom.  Planning to place one 5' side against a wall, which should leave enough room on the other three sides to easily access all parts of the layout.  The design is filled with track, with little room for scenery, but I like operating and having at least two trains running.

I chose Realtrax because it's nickel-silver, a must have in my high humidity, salt air environment.  I considered sourcing the older solid rail Realtrax, but soon realized that I'd end up paying a premium in shipping charges for the multiple buys needed to collect all the track I need.  ModelTrainStuff is having a 10% promotion - which pays most of the shipping cost, so I pulled the trigger for the track pieces I need.

Still have to clear out the room and build the table, but finally after four years I'm going have a layout again!

Anyone else use this layout or have any suggestions?

Looks fine for switching or short trains. I would think a long train will look odd on it.

Can you take over the entire room?  11 X 13 is a decent size room.

If so, Have you considered going around the walls VS a tabletop style layout? You end up with more track and scenery room and can easily access any issues.

Russel beat me to the punch. You can have a better balance of scenery and track with an around-the-walls, plus support for larger equipment down the road. The added bonus is that the interior of the room is available for general use, especially if you build the layout shelving at around 48". These are 11x12. The top one os 48" radius (O-96) while the bottom one is 36" radius (O-72) and is a two-lap design.

Thanks guys - those are nice plans, I only wish the room would let me.

One 11' wall is all windows that wrap around the corners. lets lots of natural light and air in but kills any shelf layout plans. One 13' wall is half closet, Leaving just one wall without any obstruction. We're planning on moving in 3 years, I'll focus my energy by campaigning for a bonus room in the new house.

I am thinking about adding a narrow shelf on the side adjacent to the wall, prehaps using that for an small yard, or spur tracks like the fitst layout posted by Matt.
