Delta Lines ..Donaldson has a new zip code

Frank Ellison's iconic Delta Lines may no longer be running but Frank's work lives on through books, articles a few remaining pieces from Delta Lines and kits made by Fred Dole and Dennis Brennan.

I was very fortunate to purchase Fred Dole's collection of Frank Ellison buildings ..from the towns of Raymondale, Donaldson and Ginia .

Building a shelf layout skirting the 4 walls of the basement .. using vintage outside 3rd rail track ... one wall will be Raymondale and in a one of the corners Donaldson .

The layout will be two loops which is just the number of tracks needed to roll through both towns . Here are a few photos of roughing in Donaldson .... Ob Long Box, the Canning Co. and Hamm Berger are original Ellison pieces ..... as very good fortune two weeks ago Dennis Brennan announced his newest release to be "Hap Hazard Packing "......the missing building between Ob Long and the Canning Co. ....perfect timing !!!.

Spot Cash is but a space holder for blocking space needed ... to the right BRR Ice is needed and left of Hamm Berger would / will be Quick Sand ...both future project planned by Dennis ..

The outer loop will have a gradual climb through Donaldson ..not the steep angle currently viewed in photos ...it's all just a work in progress ...

Hello Dennis ...center ( more or less ) is the 1939 Multiplex 2 rail layout ( slightly below the ) ....shelf layout is the outside 3rd ...there is one corner where they share the same air space ...separate but equal ... here you see the Multiplex layout and the shelf layout around the edge .. back left corner is the shared air space ...Donaldson is in the right corner ( not visible) Cheers Carey

Hello Delta Line fans ..through the magic of Ebay ...two more buildings have arrived in Donaldson... the seller has been selling a number of buildings that are very heavily influenced by ..or direct copies of Frank Ellison . Buildings came off a large layout in Ohio ...anyone know a big Delta Lines fan in Ohio who had many Ellison type buildings adorning it ...up to recently ? ...

I was able to purchase Hap Hazard and Spot Cash ..... Spot Cash appears to be a DSL kit ? as posted before ..quite a nice kit ..a bit more detailed than Elliosn's original work . Hap Hazard scratch built ..quite nicely done ...(sign needs a major upgrade in graphics) ... building very faithful to Ellison.....just needs to be sprayed with 70 years or oxidation to blend in .... bright white just stands out like a sore thumb ... Frank was careful to blend everything for that weathered

"realistic" look ..

I'm going to have to get creative with the hot water chimney to gain a bit more room ....
