Gunny, how about telling us which one of the Deoxit products You use and why. I went to the Deoxit site and found many to choose from, and I figured there is one or 2 better than the others, which most technicians will use religiously.  I have to buy somemore for our club and you seem very knowledgable, and use Deoxit products. Quite frankley I'm not against any product that's better than what we use now, which is WD-40 1st, scotch brite pad if needed, then final clean up with 93% alcohol, and I got that some months back off this forum. I appreciate your input, and thanks ahead........................................Brandy!

They do.

I purchase my Caig products in bottles.

IMHO, its kind of expensive to use for track cleaner.

The smallest quantity bottle is D100L-2DB, 7.4 milliliters for $19.95 with a brush applicator.

My last purchase was #D100L-2 which is a plain 59 milliliter bottle for $42.95.

I've been using the same bottle for at least three years, and have about 1/3 left.

DeoxIT does not contain any lubricants.
I use their Fader lube and Fader grease from time to time.

I use some of their other products too.

I spray a little directly into the can cap top and dip a Q tip in that to apply to wheels and rollers. For track, I spray it on a piece of Shamwow tacked to a wooden block then slide on the rails. It's a little oily so I wipe again with a clean piece of Shamwow. Puts a brilliant shine on the rails and trains run like a dream after.

I have also tried denatured alcohol per the MTH manuals. It cleans the track and rollers but does nothing for continuity. Goo Gone cleans even better than DNA but is messier still.

John,

I would NOT kid you, especially you. You have been so helpful to me since I joined this OGR Forum just a few short months ago.

I only used the simple green 2 times and realized the tracks were not dirty so I left them alone. Thankfully my layout is small, so I will get some of the Alchahol you guys are using. I am so sure somebody out there said to use the NOT So Simple Green stuff.

Wait....Did you hear that bang and swoosh.

That was the simple green smashing against the wall from me throwing it at 90mph.

Thanks again.

I am glad I dropped into this forum this morning.

John, pretty soon I am going to know what I am talking about with all this "slang and Lingo" you guys speak of.

I am learning.

Thanks again
