I recently became interested in Pecos River and other large scale sized freight cars.  Mind you, this issue is not solely a Pecos River issue. I have a couple of other various cars that behave the same erratic way.

I'm attempting to pull a string of Pecos River and Atlas cars scale boxcars.  At first, only two of them would derail crossing one particular Gargraves switch.  I tried weighing them down to no avail. Then I tried placing them in a different order in lineup.  That worked for one only one of them.  The other continues to derail.

I took a caliper to the wheelsets and all is identical and there are no obstructions on the track.

Come on guys, you are the pros.  What am I missing?

Thanks - Ponz

one truck should be looser (body screw) to allow the car to rock as it goes over switches. Neither should be so tight that they can't rock.

Wow!  I wish I knew this trick much sooner in my brief modeling endeavor!  It worked, with less than a half turn of the screws!

Thank you very much!
