Finally found correct tender for my GN pacific steam engine. The front and sides are nicely detailed but top and back not so much. I hope someone could show me what I am missing? Only one step is left! Looked in Precision Scale catalog but no matches. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated! Don

Lou ( Lou1985) does a lot of coal to oil conversions, he may be able to at least guide you on some specifics, ….hopefully he’ll see this and reply ….hey @Lou1985

Search on Great Northern Steam Locomotives. Auction sites are a good place as you will likely get photos taken at all angles like this.

That's actually coal tender equipped with a Ryan & Johnson coal pusher. It's unique to some Great Northern and Burlington locomotives where the entire coal bunker tilts forward to move the coal toward the stoker screw.

If you want to oil convert a coal tender after removing the coal load (really easy with a glued on real coal load) you need a flat surface. Either sheet plastic the thickness of the area or some shims and sheet brass will do. Then I usually just add whatever necessary details (oil hatches, vents, rivets, handrails, etc) and glue the oil bunker I made over the area where the coal was. I converted both this Santa Fe Mikado tender and Union Pacific Challenger tender from coal to oil using just the simple above method.

More photos of Santa Fe tender please! Looking to do similar on AM Flyer Mikado and Pacific Tenders. Yours looks awesome.
