Does anyone know if a smoke unit can be installed in the Lionel Heritage Dewitt Clinton?
It seems odd that going through such effort to recreate this set, they did not bother to put in smoke.

I would imagine many technical issues. Not enough room in the scale sizes stack for a Suethe generator, heat transfer issues, wiring a on/off switch, the smoke fluid splattering over intricate details, taking apart the engine should the smoke unit fail.
The set was meant to be a operating scale model, and I guess Lionel decided operating smoke would not be appropriate.
