Thanks!
wEAVER DID
Weaver made one. I thought the MTH version is just a reuse of the former Weaver tooling. I think Weaver offered it first in O gauge and then the tooling made it's way to MTH who reissued it.
Stu
Which one is better and how much do they go for?
The MTH one is more detailed than the Weaver models units- esp in the Fuel tank area. The MTH models also has more see through screens than the Weaver models unit. the MTH has operating Class Lights/MArker Lights too on the powered unit. Weaver Doesn't.
The issue is you can find the Weaver models units more easily than the MTH units because MTH did only one run of the U25B's- just like the VO1000.
NOTE This: MTh Locos are numbered in the third order of U25B's from the PRR to GE. This means there are NO Trainphone Antenna's with the MTH models without changing the locomotive numbers. Weaver models numbered their units in the first Order of PRR U25B's so adding the Cal Scale Trainphone antenna is perfectly acceptable. Only the First TWO orders out of Three of Ge U25B's from the PRR had Trainphone Antenna's installed
Spot on buddy!I found one on the bay for 120 bucks for the Reading Bee Service.Never liked it going back to the old Lionel U36B so I have no problem painting our it with Pennsy green and getting the decals from Microscale.
