Hi folks, I would like to present a crane car to a friend who says he has looked and not found the one from his postwar childhood. It evidently was not one of the Bucyrus Crane cars (2460, 6460, etc) and my intent was to put knuckle couplers on a tin 2660. Logic being that if it was not a Bucyrus it must have been something close to that era, and the 2660 is pretty sharp looking, colorful and solid. None of the Lionel books show a Black roof Crane, but, if Lionel made a Crane car during that time with a black roof, I'd like to know. And, nope...not going to paint one black, he can do that himself, I'll even give him paint and brush.
