If you used a credit card, you already have a record of purchase/payment.

I did not receive a packing list or sales receipt with mine that was received last week.

unfortunattly for me the smoke unit was defective, blinking the three flash code.

I called Hobby Station for my sales receipt explanning Lionel will not do warranty repair without proof of purchase. They E-mailed mine within the hour. Appears they do not send  a receipt with shipments.

I was told $60 plus parts.

Last Year when I had to have the smoke unit repaired on my Atlantic E-6 by Lionel, They told me to include a receipt, So I copied the end flap of my shipping container which showed my name and address along with Hobby Station.net return address as well as the Lionel part number of the engine, I then hand wrote the price along with the purchase date on the copy and returned the engine for repair. Lionel repaired the engine and returned it. I must admit at that time the engine had not been out but for only a few months, so the 1 year warranty could not be in question.

Whatever you order from Hobby Station does NOT come directly from them, Darlene and her husband both told me their inventory comes from "THE Wharehouse" or "The Distributor" and that's why they never know what items are actually in stock or how many they have.

I've preorder stuff from them but never got it. I've order stuff from them in stock, paid in full and they had to have another dealer eventually send it to me because my order was lost and they ran out of stock. The last straw was my Santa Fe reefer preorder that I was told they ran out, then charged me anyway, and never showed up. Finally when I called to complain they said they found one in the wharehouse they could ship out right away.

They are lacking in basic business practices to say the least!

Same experience here with the Reefer set. Hobby Station is definately not ready for prime time...I'd never consider them again-you're better off paying a few extra dollars and deal with a reputable on-line supplier.

I don't see how. The paper trail between the CC company and their bank is still in place. Of course, if you don't want to pay taxes, I suppose there is nothing stopping you, at least in the short term.

Thought I would follow-up here.  I sent several e-mails with no response BUT gave them a call yesterday early afternoon.  Darlene apologized and said that she was so swamped with orders she was doing her best to get them processed and shipped out to folks before Christmas so that they would not be disappointed.  She promised to have a receipt for me via e-mail by the end of the day and in fact had me on her list of things to get done...I just beat her to it.  When I got home from the office last evening, the receipt was in my e-mail....  Thanks Darlene and Simon!!

That is good to hear. Seems like we went around on this about a year ago (maybe two?) and at that time getting receipts was like pulling teeth. So it is good to hear that that is no longer the case.

FWIW, I had to send in an engine (Lionel) that I got from Hobbyspeed last year for warranty work. No receipt, so I printed out and enclosed the payment info from Paypal. Work was done, no charge and no problems.

Looking at the shipper, mine actually came from Hobby Station in SC.

any return address can be applied.  I received a UPS shipping schedule and mine came from Emery.  this would also explain why there is no receipt as the item is not at Hobby station.
