Just looking for some feedback. Would you go through the hassle of sending a new legacy diesel back to lionel just for a non-working smoke unit? I have obtained about 12 legacy diesels this year since I got back to running my trains and getting the legacy system. I had run the tmcc system for years. When the icg gp-30s and cn sd-70s and dash-9s came out, I just had to have them. Out of this bunch, 4 had to go back to lionel for various problems out of the box...mostly sound problems. I usually never used the smoke units to start with, but after I got all the problems taken care of, I went back and started trying the smoke systems. Now I have 2 diesels with problems...one the unit does not work at all...the other the fan buzzes loudly and barely smokes. All the other units produce lots of smoke. The turnaround so far has been super...about two weeks. Not to bash lionel as I love the diesels and features. What do you all do about these things? The diesels with smoke problems have not been in the batch that went back to lionel...I noticed when I got a diesel back from repair, they had turned back on the smoke units so I assumed they might have checked everything out...which is a good thing!
