I am talking about American flyer's old, perhaps their first track, where the curved sections were 'stepped' --- 'slanted'.
i have some curved flyer track from my deceased father's model train collection, Now, me being the youngest of 5 siblings, I only have the curved track sections and nothing else. all other flyer pieces never made it to me.

I especially would like your input on the topic of: exiting the curve sections into a straight section, when the straight section is Lionel o gauge. i would like your thoughts on using these curved sections WITH Lionel O gauge straight sections....can it be done and have a smooth transition?
I ran my own test with track from both mfg.(s) and my engines are derailing in the curves where I leave the curve for a straight section of track. what i have observed is: iether the front or rear truck will be in the air and the flange of one or two wheels will be lifted up by the chassis and the train derails.
is there a special straight track section that is used where the curve ends, in order to make a smooth transition?

Can these flyer track sections be used with Lionel O gauge track? or must they be used strickly with flyer track?

I hope I have not been vague, please ask questions if I have been.
thanks to all.
