First off, are you SURE that actual LED is bad? I'd be checking the wiring to the LED. That looks like a standard SMT LED, you can simply pick up the part and solder it to that board if it's bad.
Yes it was my fault I put my snow plow on and didnt have the front railing down and it rubbed the wires and shorted out the led ....just wanted to know the voltage on the led...on another post GGG said it was 2.4V just checking
Common white or warm-white LED's are 3V, but note that they always include current limiting as LED's are really a current mode device. I don't think Evan's is going to be a fit as they include resistors and the like to run them off higher power. You can buy the chip LED's for peanuts, and if you tell me the size of that one, I can probably send you one.
How do I determine the size and where do you buy yours......thanks Jim...can you tell the size by the pic I sent board is 3mm wide
Just measure the body size of the square chip, that's what I need to know. I'll see if I have those in my parts bin, I think I probably do.
2mm square cool white....it was tricky getting the old one off
2mm square? I don't even know what size that equates to. That's not a standard sized LED package.
My son has better eyes than me he comes up with 2mm x 1.2mm thats still not on your size chart I even checked digikey they don't have it either....thanks for your time and help
I received a email from midge at mth I can get 2 with boards for 16 that's the way I'm going to have to go
Probably a good idea.
