I am trying to find O scale ditch lights and need part numbers. I am kit bashing an AEM7 loco and putting in ditch lights so I need the housing and the wirring for two sets. Another problem is this probably needs a flash code, Maybe I can wire in from track power to run ditch lights that alternate. Hope someone can help. Oh I forgot this was a proto 1 loco and now putting in Proto 2. Thanks Joe

The ditch lights are included with the PS-2 upgrade kit. They are just 6V bulbs, powered off the 8 pin connector.
The sound file controls whether they are available, but generically DCS under control, light has the ability to activate ditch lights. So you can get this to work.
The OEM PS-2 AEM7 has unique lighting changes via secondary circuit board and it does have a special flash code PS-2 board to work it.
Getting ditch lights on your engine should not be an issue. G
I guess the flash code is going to be the problem. I just wish all of the boards had all of the information needed. I am using a board from another loco a 3 volt board.
Is this a PS-1 AEM7? I don't think you need the flash code for your mod. If this was an OEM PS-2 AEM-7 than yes you will need a flash code board for it to work right. G
Yes this is a Ps 1 board.
If the PS-1 model did not have any additional circuit boards in it, other than the PS-1 boards and maybe a Constant Voltage board for some lights. The regular PS-2 board will work fine.
You add the 8 pin connector for ditch lights and you can turn them on via DCS (under Controls).
The PS-2 AEM-7 has additional circuit boards because it has unique features on how the marker lights and such change based on direction. Because of these additional features the board has special flash code to control the extra circuit board. G
George would it also have alternating ditch light in the direction of motion? Thanks Joe
Nope. Need PS-3 for that, or the extra board MTH uses in one model with that feature. G
