Do you have a freight car repair shop?

Down at one end of my Service Yard I have a MTH Car Shop that I modified into a Enginehouse/Backshop sort of structure by raising the roof to achieve a clerestory effect. Not specifically what you asked about but it could be viewed as a diverse-use kind of facility.

My raw, far from finished,small 9x16 round-the-wall layout is currently stripped of equipment and structures except in the far corners where I am working[slowly] and have to get up on a raised platform to reach the corner sites.

These are old photos and show the modified Enginehouse and at the other end of the Service Yard some of Harry Heike's's Tower work that you will recognize from a few years back. Note the Smokestack he made sitting back in the corner at the Mill Powerhouse. THe Mill structures and building fronts along the wall are by Joe Fauty of Model Structures.

I have been laid up but hope to get upstairs today to measure whether I will be able to site one of Harry's Fruit Loading Structures on the Village side of my layout. I am guessing that the depth will be okay, but the length may have to be reduced.

Where can someone purchase Harry's creations?

 I built an engine shed and it connects to a yard for car storage tracks. Near the end I have a cutout that I can reach out of for any rerailing or emergencies. I figure I could build a building there that would serve as a car shop and hide the cutout. Now if I could just get started.

If you have a freight car repair shop where is it located?

 I plan to use one of Harry Heike's Machinery Building kits as a Freight Car repair shop and haveing a problem of where to locate it.

Some pictures below show it placed on the existing hack track but it doesn't quite fit.

Will probably require new benchwork but should it be located in the freight car area?

 NOt Necessarily. While Logically that would be the ideal place for it, It doesn't have to. case in point the former PRR Sam Rea car repair shops was located MILES from the huge Altoona railyards on the Holidaysburg branch.
