Do You Think Trackwork Has Improved ?

I shot some photos in the late '80s with my Miranda SLR. This one was taken from the west end of the stone viaduct crossing the Schuylkill River, or the Zoo side of the river. Look at the track. A lot of bumps. Compared to today's welded rail, it almost looks archaic.
