Guys,
Being somewhat of an Olympic memorabilia nut myself and considering the current craze we have for American made products, I was wondering does anybody model trains after the current 2014 Sochi Olympics?

Mike:
At times, roads have painted equipment to commemorate Olympic events taking place within their operating territories and manufacturers have released models of some of these. For example, here's an Athearn HO model of a unit SP painted to commemorate the 1984 Summer games in Los Angeles:
So, yes some of us have trains with an Olympic theme. I'm not sure if that's what you were asking but that's the best I have.

Thanks,Bob!
Does anybody know of any plans to market Sochi Olympic trains? Which I assume would be red for Russia? Does anybody care?

Just for the sake of clarity, the colors of the Russian Federation flag are white, blue and red. You may be thinking of the Soviet flag.
Penn Central was gone by 1980. The trains were run by the Adirondack Railway: http://www.adirondackrr.com/history.html

To be frank, I don't think an Olympic train would have much interest to O-Gauge fans. They come every two years (between the summer and winter games) and are gone before you know it. After the games are completed, they are very quickly forgotten.
Someday I plan to repaint an sd40-2 into the Conrail 1992 us olympic loco...
As well as the sd50 us olympic loco too....
For the most part I too don't remember much of the past Olympics. With that said, one of my greatest TV memories was watching the final call on the U.S. vs Russia Hockey Game in 1980 to be forever known as the miracle on ice.
To keep with the start of this thread, I managed to catch this in the Roseville CA yard in 2006.
