So I am looking at the shipping schedules once again to determine if I have any cash to spare? Once again I see due dates long past without any updates. If the items I pre-ordered are months away from shipping then I can go ahead and buy that engine or those cars I am looking at. However if they did ship last month then I will have to wait on my impulse  purchases. Bad shipping information costs the dealers and manufacturers sales.

I believe the importers [ lionel, mth, atlas etc] are at the mercy of their Chinese builders and delivery dates are suitably vague, some factorys are clearly less reliable than others. Atlas by maintaining an estimated mfg and shipping date gets a considerable backlash from their customers [one of the reasons their forum was dropped a number of years ago] JMO

I don't care.  I budget, analyze, and keep myself in check when needed.  I make sure before I order anything the money is available or will be available despite when it comes in.  I also have some other budgeted money for any items that I may want to acquire while waiting.

This is essentially my take. I'm not much of a shipping schedule watcher. In fact, I rarely look at it. I'm a "...it gets here when it gets here..."guy.

You must be feeling that this is only the beginning, of what I want to feel forever,

Yes, by pre-ordering , this is only the beginning, it's only just the start, of what you must want to feel forever.

You must be feeling that you got to get this item into your life, you want to get it next to you

So unfortunately,  this is only the beginning.

Lucky for Lionel,  maybe not so lucky for you.
