I live just north of York, but as usual I have to work and won't make it to the show.  I have scoured the internet and made phone calls for the add on cars to my red 710 set without any luck.

Is proxy shopping at York a thing?  I.e. do folks make arrangements Like if you find this and buy it at up to a pre agreed price I will buy it from you for what you paid plus a finders fee?

If this type of thing happens I would like to talk to someone about keeping an eye out for two specific cars for me.

FYI - I don't think this post breaks any forum rules but if it does I apologize.  Let me know and I will take this down.

Did I hear you cough?  You don't look so good - are you coming down with something?  There's a bug going around right now - starts off slowly, but really hits you in about a week or so.  Really contagious - you don't want to spread it to the folks you work with.  The proper thing to do is to take a day or two off.

And BTW, the York meet badge provides immunity to the wearer, so we're OK if you show up.

There is an index to advertising here if you look through the sticky posts heading all topics or do a search. I'd seriously devote some phone time to this.

I'm not going btw... Lots of folks have done it for others; but now that you've asked, better make sure you have good contact info in your profile and hash out details in private, talk about the cars here; 'cause they are nice.

FYI, you only listed a number too, no maker.  Make it easy and you might get a few bored & curious folk hunting for you

Maybe even list the i-droid digits on those days so if someone sees them & recalls this, you're in business

These are Lionel Corporation Tinplate, so they are made by Mth but have old style Lionel boxes.  ( Welcome to the tip of the iceberg regarding confusing things about tinplate.)

mth numbers are 11-80023 and 11-80024.

I hear what you are saying.  But its hard to get away when you have contractors installing equipment for an outage you scheduled.

I agree he is getting sick.  In 8 days he will be bed ridden unless he gets to York.   A drink from the orange hall water fountain should cure him.  It does me.

Or maybe one of the doctors on the forum can write him an excuse and a prescription.

I just kinda point and drool anyhow 😲

The "big money" has been playing with the better tin my whole life.   The new stuff only slightly more accessible at that.

I "knew better" to than really be bothered to learn prewar numbers or pay close attention to who re-popped what and when. The tin Gramps had wasn't showcase quality, not run.  Great Gramps partially retired on his own tin collection's partial sale and moved focus to AMT pass. cars/ Amt/KMT/Kris beer cars and Kusan engines. First he said "not for sale" then he heard the offer   ;)
