Does anyone else have any nicknames for specific trains in their collection?

The 2055 locomotive in the first Lionel train set that my wife bought for me is named "Old Bill" in honor of the original owner, who's widow my wife was very good friends with.

I don't have a pic,(but could get one). Purchased a Marx yellow M10000 on the online auction site. The nose of the powered unit was all bunged up.

the previous owner tried his best to fashion a new nose with tin and markers. It did NOT look good. So I had a beater RED Marx M10000, Robbed the nose

off the RED loco and put it on the Yellow M10000. Installed a RED head light bulb on the now new Yellow M10000 with a RED nose with Red bulb and called it

Many years ago, I built my "rusty train." This was in response to various club members who could not figure out how to run their brand new, shiny, expensive command controlled trains on the club layout. Rusty is a train made up of mostly Marx locos and cars that are rusted almost beyond recognition. While the befuddled club members were trying to figure out how to make their new trains  go, the rusty train flashed past them at improbably high speed, delighting the watching kids.

Not sure if anyone ever understood, but it amused me.

I also have two Post War locomotives I got from my father-in-laws collection after he died five years ago.

A 281 and a 2055. They are both refered to as "PAPA's" trains.

Haven't named any specific locomotives (I haven't even run all the ones I have yet), but I do have one particular consist that has a name:

I named it "The 30-car Rampage". It was later upgraded to a '40-car'..

There is another that has yet to run at its full length, approximately 60 Menards and Lionel 027 flatcars. Upon it's successful first run, it'll be called "The RiDONKulous Flatcar Train"

Sorry I don't nick-name my engines, but I do make up my own nicknames I keep to myself  for people I see in the gym regularly, but do not know personally.  I know it sounds weird and if you're not a gym rat you may not understand, but if you are it will probably make perfect sense.   People you see regularly with certain habits, mannerisms, characteristic, or appearance, or who remind you of a certain fictional or historical character or celebrity, but who you don't know personally.   I know I've been doing this for a many many years. 

It is a way to give a proper name to someone, or in the case of your locos something, that is familiar by identifying it with a meaningful (at least to you) name.

I love the sight of old rusty trains that are beat up and scratched, yet still run. Do you happen to have any photos of videos of this train? I'd love to see!

Some time back I acquired a large home made STD Gauge Royal Canadian Hudson. While it will run well on my layout curves, it has too much cab swing out to run. My buddies nicknamed it Thumper for the noise it made when it hit the walls.
