Do any members here have a John Bull train made by Lionel? Could someone give us a review on this engine? Anybody got any video of this engine?

I have the set and love it. Great detail. If you search there are a few threads on this topic.
While I don't have one, check out Peter Riddle's article about all the Lionel Heritage series sets in OGR Run255! It starts on page 59 and has good pictures of the John Bull.

Thanks for the info.

Can anybody confirm whether the John Bull train is TMCC? Or is it conventional?
Thanks.

The John Bull is conventional. Very nice, detailed set.

Thanks for the response, George.
I assume you are familiar with the engine, then. Is it large enough to install a tmcc compatible board into?

Saw my first one run this past weekend; little too expensive for a novelty item - for me -
but appeared to be quite a nice model. Ran well. I thought that the owner said that
it was TMCC (I was surprised - until I though about my Command inspection scale
automobile - 5 inches stem to stern), but even if not, I would think that an installation
in one of the passenger cars, employing a tether - would be possible.
If they were $99 conventional, I'd have one. Attractive.
Timbo,
There is no way tmcc could be installed in either the engine or tender. In fact, the tender has the motor in it. As D500 stated previously, you might be able to put a tmcc board in a passenger car and connect it to the tender with a tether. You would have an area of about 1 1/4"H x 1 3/4"W x 7"L in a passenger car. If you do take this on, please keep us posted, especially photos.

I agree! These are very small locomotives.
