Have the chance to pick up a NIB Looney Toons shack.
My question- what does it do? Will the kiddos like it on our community layout? I'm buying it because roadrunner & coyote was my favorite growing up...

I think it is a re-worked Lionel gateman house accessory..
I have one of these. As Ron says it is basically the gateman accessory. The coyote replaces the gateman. He jumps out at the roadrunner when a train passes. Roadrunner is eating bird seed outside the door.
It's cool, the kids love it.

I think it should have been an Acme, not a Lionel product!
I keep meaning to hunt for one of those. grew up watching the Coyote and road runner, and I have a road runner in the garage,
I have some LT cars so I've thought about one lots. I haven't seen one well placed yet really, but the characters are timeless and will grab lots of smiles.
"I thought the ambush was a bit PC. I'd have put him on the tracks looking like this> ... I'd try for a position that from "ground level view" leaves Wile E.'s safety in question as the locomotive suddenly blocks the view of him. Just when the train is passing he should be "gone" again "swept away by the train". Assuming they didn't add one, better timing could be had by using a second contact point at the shack, set normally closed, to cut the power again quickly at the right moment.
If you want any accessory to get worn out with fun, just add a #90

I would say if you have a chance to buy one, do so. 1) Kids will like it (although do today's kids know the Roadrunner & Coyote?) and, 2) it was priced high when new (due to Warner Bros. licensing no doubt), so it is not a very common piece.
Thanks for the advice Ron... Just purchased new in box

Can you post a video? Thanks
It's kind of a fun collectable.
We ran ours on a button as well. It was the favorite animation on the display.

I agree. It is a crowd favorite! It was sitting on the shelf at my LHS for some time before I actually decided to buy it. I should have purchased it earlier. I was hesitant to purchase as it's large and I didn't want it to be on the main section of my layout. I found a nice place outside the amusement park. Kids love it!
