Does the#22962 Deluxe CC kit work for conventionals 2?

Yes,  This will work.  Yes to conventional directional lighting.  But the only way to activate the remote couplers is with TMCC.  So you may want to keep the conventional couplers.  Yes you can adapt LEDs, Just need to use current limiting resistors.

This uses the LCRX and there is a 4 pin connector with serial data, so you could add RS also at a future date.  You would need the chuff switch though for diesel ramp up.   G

Depending on what the kit is selling for, it might be cheaper to purchase individual pieces and you would have newer technology. If you have trucks on your B unit you could add rollers, control board and coil couplers for about $50.00.

I don't think the LCRX has changed much.  I know Lionel started to remake them for some of the recent AUX tenders used for TMCC.

The advantage of the kit is that it has all the parts, harness, bracket, and control switch.  I think they go pretty cheap on the bay now a days.  G
