I would say that any progress is meaningful.
Some days the progress is obvious and visible, others its not. But you're getting there and that's what matters!
Don't tell people that! Tell them you just spent five exciting days with your stripper!

My last Layout had 52 SWITCHES. All wired to ASC's so they could be controlled by a CAB1 and CAB2. Took more than a few days!!!

I know the feeling. My ASC graveyard [22 conductors per module]. From dismantled layout with only 32 turnouts but two rectifying diodes per VDC Tortoise Motor to boot.

As I have said before, I have been at my layout for over 10 years. It appears I may be half done. I use a lot of time running trains and let my imagination fill in the scenery that isn't there yet. I have sidings that have no building there yet to receive the goods. I leave a car there anyway.
