That's a nice act. At our club, AMRA in Sydney Australia, the history of our 50 year old club and O gauge layout is preserved, most models run on our O gauge layout were Australian prototypes, scratch built by the members. As these old members passed away, over time, many of their collections or significant models were donated to the club for permanent display. It has created a unique and valuable historical record of the hobby in our country.

I'm planning to donate most of my trains when I depart for that great roundhouse in the sky.  My brother-in-law will get first pick from my Large Scale collection since he's into that scale, but most of my trains in O gauge, O tinplate, On30, and Marklin HO will go to various designated organizations/foundations.

In the meantime, I plan to sell some of the "stuff" over the next few years.
