Eliot, Be warned that two rail is the gateway to monorail. There will also be untold derailments. As a penance for your wavering faith you must adopt Lee's 5 rail technology. Be strong, throw down the gauntlet. It is highly recommended because there are two pickup rails and three return rails. This provides a safe refuge from the dark side. Pat B.
...Hey, this santa fe f7s got a bad e unit motivator !...Excuse me sir, but that 700e unit next too it is in prime condition. Quite a bargin.....Hey, Uncle Im Owing, what about that blue car set?..What about that one we'll take that!
(Out of this world, was any one else watching auctions?)
As an ex 3-railer, the best move I ever made was to switch to 2-rail. It is like leaving the dark side and going to the light.

If you do change , contact Joe , Baldwin Forge , he can convert all your engines to 2 rail , and then you still have all the sounds and controls. Tmcc and DCS can be run thru 2 rails ,same as 3 rails , get a NWSL catalog and get wheelsets for all your train cars.Kade couplers and you are good to go. Then all you have to donate is the layout.
Bernie
If you go two-rail, you may need to upsize your digs to accommodate the increased minimum radius.
This will do nicely:
"We Brake For Nobody" is Spaceball for "072 Was Too Sharp"

Bernie,
All I want to donate is the layout.
If I can convert some of the locos I would consider that.
I have lots of two rail cars already.
Here is the kicker.
I want to do On3 !
All my standard gauge locos and cars . . . . . A giant OGR sale?
Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient 2 Rail religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen MTH engine designs, or given you enough clairvoyance to find Mike Reagan's hidden fortress...
Ahw, my CAB-1 antenna doesn't glow like that...can I get that in red?
What is Vader doing with a green one to begin with?

Just to clarify- you want "0n3"..not 0n30. There's a ..well, big, following for 0n30, but far less for 0n3. There are quite a few resin casting places that make neat car kits for 0n30 and could adapt to 0n3 with the right trucks...or build your own cars.
Either way you would need roughly the same side and top clearances for these and the possible use of your existing layout table wouldn't be unheard of- unless you just wanted to start from scratch{more valleys/mountains/wooden trestle bridges}.
The tsunami sound in my on30 2-6-6-2 is really nice, as well as the rest of the tsunami line up...add other brands to the mix where you can copy or even record your own sounds.
If your used to command control you'll loose alot of things like dopler and cruise, but basic things remain the same.
Everything in life is some kind of trade off...if you really want to do this- I say go for it.
I used to kill womp rats with my GP9 back home and they're not much bigger than 1/48.(all in whiney farmboy voice)
Many K line bothan spies died to get these plans.
