I started this some time ago and am getting close to done. Started with a decent looking shell, but it does suffer from zinc pest. The motor, gear and wheel mount bosses ceased to exist. Kind of by accident, I bought the last motor assembly for a #9 pay as you go Trolley that MTH had. They sold it to me at a great price. The challenge is getting it in the case halves. First thing was replacing the drivers with Flyer drivers from MEW. Lots of grinding, making a mounting plate and getting the height satisfactory. It has a few hours of testing on it, so now to the last few tidbits. Biggest decision now is whether to use Repro lights or steal some originals from another project. Hope to have it complete for running at the Great Train Show in a bit over a week. I’ll post more pictures when it’s done.

so far all of the trim pieces are original except for the home made pantograph’s.

Anyone have spare grills they want to part with. One is missing and five are bad.

The brass straps is helps hold the halves together due the original supports being gone. They will be painted dark red when done.
