I have two Legacy Locomotives that the drivers turn freely but locomotives do not move in either way under power on track. It appears to that there is a broken belt or gear somewhere in the drive train. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Product number????
Probably a dogbone driveshaft, but without product number this is just flapping in the wind guessing.

Lionel has not been great about posting detailed updated parts diagrams- let alone listing the parts or selling them on recent- let's say the last 3 years or so (and may extend beyond that) engines.

We got nothing. A manual and a smoke unit PCB.
So, we have to go back to a previous version https://www.lionelsupport.com/...fic-LEGACY-GS-4-4449

Part number 9 is the dogbone driveshaft that may have just popped out of place, but also could have sheared.

How free do the wheels turn? If they have some resistance, then the dogbone is a reasonable guess. However, if they turn really freely, I'd suspect the worm and worm gear aren't meshing.
Just to cover the basics:
If you turn the sound down or completely off, can you faintly hear the motor spinning when movement is commanded?
You are not getting any cab blink codes? This would indicate a stalled motor or other issue in the driveline.
Since I believe chuff is generated or timed using the tachometer flywheel encoder on the motor- if sounds are on, is there chuffing sounds that changes with speed as commanded, but the engine just physically is not moving? Again, if the drive shaft was missing or sheared off, the motor would still turn, the tachometer would still read the rpm, you would not get blink codes for stalled motor drive, you'd get chuffing sounds and puffing smoke- just no physical movement.
Again, honestly sorry seeing you are a relatively new member to this forum (joined in 22) you don't have many posts and may be somewhat new to the hobby. It's this kind of weird place where Lionel, historically a brand that was great about listing parts, diagrams, and having them where you could buy them for a specific model engine- has let some of this slide in the last couple of years. Then the current policy is, engines are warranted for 1 year (Vision Line for 2 years), but conversely Lionel then says they do not do out of warranty repairs. https://www.lionelsupport.com/warranty-vision
You, unfortunately with a an engine with a beginning product ID of 20 indicating year 2020, fall into this range where they did not post specific engine diagrams, no parts listings to speak of, and in 2023, a 2020 engine may or may not be serviced/supported by Lionel.
I would suggest calling them or using the contact us page. Again, this is a Visionline, you paid the big $$ for it to get what is supposed to be Lionel's finest product line.

Thank you both very much. With the sound turn off I can hear the motor spinning. there are no cab blink codes. I can manually push the loco with almost no resistance and it chuffs, smokes and it does everything except moving under its own power. I will get it repaired in a little bit hopefully... there is an authorized Lionel repair shop not far from me.
