About a year ago I bought two K-Line unpainted USRA light Mikado 2-8-2 locomotives from a buddy on the Forum.  They were brand new (boxes never opened) and equipped with TMCC/RS4.

My friend, George Lasley, promised to paint them in Duckunder Terminal Railway livery, and this week we finally got around to the paint jobs.  See what you think.

George Lasley had a ball painting and weathering both Mikados and then weathering several Weaver woodside short gons in cinder service on the DUTRY.  George even modified one gon with trap door hatches in the floor for shoveling the cinders out on mine spurs and secondary lines as ballast.

George is a master at modeling!  I am lucky to call him a good friend, too.

George just completed the roundhouse scene for the Duckunder, and I hope to have some photos of it posted here soon.

Thank you all for your kind remarks.

It just gets more fun as you get into finer and finer detail!  All the little things, like detailing the cinder service gons, make it more interesting.  Frankly, I can lose myself in the just-completed roundhouse scene.  It's going to be a challenge to photograph, though.  Will try to get some pictures up over the next week or so.
