Hi all I am a newbie here so here goes. I got purchased an older dwarf signal (new) lionel 6-2115 for 0/027 gauge. I want to hook this up with lionel fastrack but want to use a toggle switch (SPDT) and not to use it with a block track . I just want to control it with the switch to change from red to green and off (manual) the switch signal has 3 connections so how do I do this ? I have an extra 80 watt trans I am using for accessories and it it tide into a MTH block terminal . I am not so good at this but am learning, Could anyone explain this to me in baby steps ? A BIG THANK YOU to all you seasoned train people ( guys and girls). Thanks

If you want to have three states, red, green, and off, you need a SPDT center off toggle switch. Wire the power (12 volts) to the center terminal of the switch, run a wire from each "on" terminal of the switch to the red & green bulb connections on the signal. Run the common from the signal to the other side of the power (12 volts).
Ok The SPDT switch I bought has 3 prungs and the switch goes to : on- off- on with 3 positions is this what I need? thanks for your answer so quickly !
Thats great ! Thanks so much for your reply and great photo A very big help !
Stan is the man!
Thanks again gunrunnerjohn it worked out fine
Thanks Stan, he drew the nice picture. I was too lazy to draw the picture.
Stan, what did you use to draw that?
I find Microsoft Paint works well for simple drawings. Cut/pasted images from JPG and PDF files, draw lines or simple shapes, make some text annotations, save as a JPG, upload to OGR.
Thanks to you too stan Great pic !!!!!
Very clever Stan, I'll have to try that method for simple drawings, makes them easy to understand.
