Hey,
I saw in previous threads where folks use graphite lube to help DZ-1000s. Exactly what kind of graphite lube? Can someone provide a URL for stuff that has worked for them?
Thanks!

Have used KD 231 "Grease 'Em" lube.
Sure there are other brands but that is what we had on hand.

How/where exactly do you apply this?
If using graphite,use SPARINGLY.

Have seen it used lightly on the two ties surrounding the throw bar where the points slide on switches.
Never in the switch machines themselves.
Don't forget, graphite is carbon and does conduct electricity. When used where you could have a short care should be exercised.
Ace Hardware carries AGS Mr. Zip Graphite Powdered Lubricant
Apply lightly to curved slot in top of sw machine while testing with controlling wire link off.
I specifically mentioned this to person who imports these when I was at York (I forget his name - Dave?) and he advised against graphite because it conductive. He suggested a plastic compatible lubricant.
He gave me a bunch more info on sticky dz-1000s which I can post here or a different thread.

Hey Mike, that would be great! If you start a new thread, please point to it in this one. thanks!
I'm struggling mightily with DZ1000s that either bounce back to the middle or just go only half way and stall. Sometimes if it stalls in the middle, it looses power too, and I have to move it by hand to either end position for it to get the power back. I've tried tweaking the spring, moving the motor location, and different voltages/power source, with some success. I managed to get a few problem ones to work more reliably, but I'm not sure exactly what I did. So its sort of a random process at this point, and very frustrating. They should just work! My problems seem to be more related to specific RCS switches in my layout and not the DZ1000 I'm using: IE I change out the 1000 on a problematic RCS switch, and I still experience the same problems with a different 1000. Resolution seems to come only by tweaking the DZ1000 location and/or tweaking the spring.
sigh...
