This past spring we traveled across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and happened across the remains of past and present railroad locos in Cape Charles, VA, just across the Bay from Norfolk/Newport News and not too far from the coal freighter loading terminals in that area, which are massive and very impressive in and of themselves.  The Bay Coast/Creek RR runs an exursion dinner train led by a lovely light blue loco.  Note the bird right on the sign in my photo.  The Eastern Shore loco is missing a truck so don't take that train.

The ESRR or whatever it's current name is runs from Cape Charles VA to Pocomoke ,MD where it interchanges with the Norfolk Southern.

It runs very slowly because of the poor track-- which has been improved

recently.

You can walk around (upon) the Cape charles property if you sign a release.

The CapeCharles yard has the facilities for car floats which the RR operates across

the Bay.to Little Creek.

There is a Ry museum about 20-25miles? south of Pocomoke t Parksley , VA.

The ESRR runs right by the Museum.
