This may be a called a "comfort food with running trains" thread. The other night I was eating meatloaf while running a freight train that included cattle cars. Then it hit me that perhaps these cattle were headed towards the great meat loaf destiny in the sky. What irony.
Anyone else stick with a comfort food/snack while running your trains?

Hilarious, Redjimmy! I am also partial to meatloaf, both the food and the singer/songwriter, Meatloaf, who does Parsdise by the Dashboard. It's my favorite song to dance to with my wife at weddings. LOL, Arnold
I love my wife’s meatloaf! She makes it in a cast iron skillet with bacon top. Add some mashed potatoes and peas and a hearty red wine... perfect train food!

I know the NJ Hirailers will jump on about chef Vinnie cooking and they eat the results.......those guys are "professionals" at this hobby!
Try the handheld model. Save some in the refrigerator overnight, add two slices of bread slathered with mayonnaise and have a cold meatloaf sandwich. To quote the vintage Campbell Soup slogan, "M'm! M'm! Good!"

Killin me! South Beach diet, zero alcohol, and a long list of everything that tastes good and I enjoy eating... Meatloaf w/o bread crumbs is just hamburger.

I understand your comment, its been at lease 40 years since the guys I grew up with would set an occasional Friday night for a true Italian pizza and draft beer and not pills from the doc.
Not that watching O gauge trains while eating meatloaf is not great but if you want to watch the real thing give the Alburtis Taveren a try (Alburtis Pa). During the warmer months you can eat their meatloaf, which is by the way great, and watch trains on the Norfolk Southern main line on their deck. I wash mine down with a cold Yuengling. Can't get any better than that. During the winter months ask the hostess for a table by the Windows.
