Hi all. Thinking about staying at the Econo Lodge at 222 Arsenal Road this spring. They have rooms available but has anyone stayed there and if so what is your opinion?
I've not stayed there, but I do stay at other el-cheapo motels that are just a few miles from the fairgrounds (like Rodeway or Super8). I just want a halfway decent place to sleep for less than $90.. It's not like I'm on a European vacation with my wife (where we've stayed at 4-5 star hotels in Budapest, Paris, Prague, Florence, Hong Kong, etc.).
I stayed there last fall. It looks to be an old Howard Johnsons, and it needed a thorough remodeling although the room was clean. About 2:00 Saturday morning the smoke alarm started chirping about every 10 or 15 seconds. It turns out they lost power. I needed to be on the road early so I had to check out in the dark, no shower and unshaven. After I complained to their customer service, the only compensation I got was some extra Choice Hotel reward points.
