I know that this subject has been broached before but I would like to ask it in maybe a slightly different way. Actually, there are two questions. First, having been told by two local hobby shops that track cleaning cars are relatively ineffective in getting the job done right I wanted to solicit your opinions. Do you agree or disagree with this statement.  And, if you disagree what is the best track cleaning car you know about, how well does it work, what do you put on the pad, and how often do you use it???

The second question is simpler. Do you have a system or procedure you use to clean rollers and wheels on the various, and is some cases many, pieces of rolling stock on your layout? Any specifics on how you actually perform the cleaning would be appreciated. My Fastrack seems to get smudgy dirty pretty often.

As always, many thanks for your responses.
